Jean Todt:
“Today we worked on race set-up trying various different
settings. Both drivers used only one set of tyres each. I am pleased with
the results obtained with Michael’s car, but we have yet to find the
best set-up for Rubens. However, I am confident we will come up with the
right solution for Saturday. As for qualifying, we can expect the now
traditional fight with our main rivals for the two front rows.“
Michael Schumacher:
“The car seems quite good here. The track is more slippery than
last year, when parts of it had just been resurfaced. We have made
good progress during the day. We have a special aerodynamic package
for Monaco, which has given us more downforce and there are also some other
items specifically for this track. Tomorrow, I will probably go to Fiorano
to shake down our fourth car.“
Rubens Barrichello:
“My main problem today was that I had too much oversteer and I
was unable to cure it during the session. The first day here is
always difficult, because the track improves with every lap as the
rubber goes down. That means the level of grip is changing constantly.
Therefore I am not too bothered about being tenth, especially as we have
tomorrow to analyse the telemetric data.”
