The Italian Grand Prix two weeks ago saw the introduction of the new Series 6 version of the Ford Zetec-R V10. The engine was used by both Rubens Barrichello and Jos Verstappen during Saturday's running and featured a combination of new components resulting in improved performance throughout the useable rev range.

Since the Italian Grand Prix, Ford has completed the purchase of Cosworth Racing and appointed Dick Scammell as Managing Director - a move which heralds a new era in the highly productive partnership between Ford and Cosworth.

The Stewart-Ford team has not been out testing since the Italian Grand Prix but has been busy paying attention to the 1999 car. Control systems on the car has been tested and the system developed in conjunction with Visteon has undergone static tests at the factory.

Stewart-Ford driver Rubens Barrichello will using a new Stewart-Ford chassis, the fifth to be built this year, at this weekends race at Nuerburgring.
