Luca Badoer Chassis 01 20th 30 laps Best time: 1'31''547 "This morning I had an electrical problem which was soon sorted out. In the second session, everything went much better even though I am not completely satisfied; A lot of work has still to be done on the set-up of the car. This first debut of the long wheel-base looked pretty positive for me even though it needs further improvements."

Marc Gene Chassis 04 22nd 15 laps Best time: 1'33"529 "Unfortunately, this morning I spun off while entering the pit lane. The lads worked for a long time even during the second session and finally, 15 minutes before the end of the practice, I managed to complete a number of laps trying not to make any mistake that could hamper my practice. Despite my time which was not very interesting, I succeeded in getting more confident with the track which I don't know and for tomorrow I feel more confident also on the car which I know better and better."

Ford Cosworth - ROGER GRIFFITTHS Motorsport Project Leader "Unfortunately we had an electrical problem on Luca's car and the delay in getting Marc's car out in the 2nd session combined with his earlier spin prevented us from completing our development programme today. However we do have some useful information which we can base our work on and look forward to a more productive day tomorrow. "
