Williams Jerez test notes 2004-02-14

Juan Pablo Montoya and Antonio Pizzonia carried out wet weather testing for the BMW WilliamsF1 Team today at an artificially flooded Jerez circuit.

In order to allow the BMW WilliamsF1 Team, and its tyre supplier, Michelin, to carry out vital wet weather testing, the Jerez circuit was artificially flooded today, with water tankers keeping the Spanish track wet throughout the day.

Both drivers carried out a number of short runs, comprising four to six laps, though towards the end of the session Juan Pablo ran a ten-lap stint.

Juan Pablo completed 89 laps at the wheel of the WilliamsF1 BMW FW26, with a best time of 1:26.665, while Antonio completed 41 laps at the wheel of last year's WilliamsF1 BMW FW25, and posted a best time of 1:28.570. Today was the first time that Antonio has driven at Jerez this year.

Tomorrow is the final day of testing at Jerez for the team before it heads to Valencia next week for a three-day test which begins on Wednesday.
