The AT&T Williams team today concluded the final test of the 2008 season at the Jerez circuit in southern Spain. The four day test, attended by eight of the teams, was the first outing for AT&T Williams' FW30B, an interim chassis the team will use to develop new components for 2009. For the first time, the car was also fitted with the KERS in preparation for next season's new regulation.

Sam Michael, Technical Director, Williams F1:

We've had a successful first run with the FW30B interim car this week in Jerez. The four day test saw Nico and Kazuki undertake testing duties, together with the first run for Danny Clos. The week saw us run our initial stage KERS and a 2009 transmission on the 30B, which also had a much reduced downforce level as we had some 2009 aerodynamic components fitted. Initial reliability of all systems has been encouraging and we'll now use that data to prepare for winter testing that starts in November.

Danny Clos:

This was my first drive in a Formula One the car and it was awesome! I spent quite a lot of time at the factory before the test, just to make sure I was fully prepared so I could get the best out of my time on track. My initial thoughts upon driving the car were how light and incredibly smooth everything was, the grip levels were pretty impressive as well. As I clocked up more laps over the day, I just tried to improve my lap times, not make any mistakes and feed back information to the engineers. Ultimately, the opportunity to drive for AT&T Williams was fantastic and I'm grateful to the team for inviting me.
