Yet another points scoring change possible - reports

Yet another change to F1's points system is on the agenda ahead of the 2010 season, according to reports.

Germany's Auto Motor und Sport and Finland's Turun Sanomat report that, after the existing points system was amended in December, talks to implement yet another change are now taking place.

The latest change follows criticism that the new points system, awarding 25 points instead of 10 to first place and extending the scoring down to tenth place, did not address the view that Grand Prix winners should be proportionately better rewarded for their feats.

The reports claim that, instead of getting 20 points, second place should receive just 18 points compared with the winner's 25.

Therefore, a new system of 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1 could replace the newly-announced system of 25-20-15-10-8-6-5-3-2-1.

If the new system is adopted, winners will receive 7 points more than second place, while the points difference between second place and lower is proportionately smaller.
