Bilbao: Draco race report

Today Draco drivers contested two hard challenges, obtaining good result on the new Bilbao street circuit: in the first race, Christian Montanari, who started from the fourth row, made a controlled race, in order to preserve the car for the afternoon's long race (22 laps with mandatory pit stop), finishing sixth after a perfect overtaking on the opponent Celso Miguez. Unfortunately, on lap 5 the Pons Racing driver rammed Markus Winkelhock, forcing him to abandon.

In the second race, the drivers of the Tuscan Team opted for different strategies: Winkelhock made the pit stop after only two laps, while his team-mate Montanari came into the pits on lap 12. German driver had a good race, crossing the finishing line in seventh position, even though he had a problem with the differential. Also Montanari made a good performance: from the seventh row, he gained some positions ad he took the tenth position.

Christian Montanari - Draco driver: "I had a reasonably positive results, sixth in the first race and tenth in Race 2. I have to say that I was the only one to make an overtaking in the first race...The atmosphere on the city circuit is always particular, here there was a fantastic audience, I would have liked to repeat the Monaco result...but now I have to work for the next race."

Markus Winkelhock - Draco driver: "I'm not satisfied. In the first race I was forced to abandon because Celso Miguez made a mistake and pushed me off the track. In the second race I started from the second row, I had some problems with the differential, but I was able to finish in seventh position, gaining some useful points. This circuit is very challenging, I like it, there are some bumps, but on the whole to race here has been a good experience".
