Berthon still among the top drivers!
Another pole this morning for Nathanael Berthon who proves himself to be the true discovery of World Series by Renault collective tests. The French of Draco, rookie in the category, has obtained the fastest time in the first round of testing at Alcaniz in the Motorland circuit in Spain, which will be held in mid-April the first race weekend of the season. Berthon improved on his provisional best time, lap after lap, and with 1'43 "512 the Draco driver has become leader once again, surpassing all the drivers on the track (24 drivers for the 13 teams participating in the league), and some of them are very expert. In the afternoon session, Berthon has been overtaken only by Vergne and then the Draco driver concluded the total day of test in 2nd position.
The Colombian Julian Leal has placed himself in the middle of the standings this morning with 1'44"571, while in the afternoon he has overtook himself finishing with a best time of 1:44:420. Leal has reduced his gap compared to the firsts pre-season tests and certainly he promises good results in the league.
Nathanael Berthon, driver:
"This morning I was very fast and I improved lap by lap. Today I wanted
to win the first time on the day, at the end of the session I closed just
below Vergne and, as I know I have made a good test, I'm want the pole!
We try again tomorrow."
