STEFANO COLETTI'S EXPECTATIONS AT THE EVE OF THE HOME RACE

The world Series by Renault is back on track this weekend at Monaco for the third round of the season. For Stefano Coletti, after the exalting performances at Spa-Francorchamps, the home streets represent an ideal theater to aim at a result to launch his classification: the bends of the Principality are traditionally full of traps and it is going to be fundamental not to commit even the smallest mistake.

The street circuit of Montecarlo has been almost unchanged since its introduction in 1929. In the first editions of the Grand Prix, the start line was placed on the promenade and in 1972 it was moved to the actual position. In 1973m the track was modified in several places: the construction of the Loews Hotel, swimming pools and the restaurant "La Rascasse" entailed the increase of the tunnel, the introduction of a double chicane and a final hairpin after which the pits entry was placed. Since then only a few revisions were made to improve the safety but they did not influenced significantly on the shape of the circuit.

Stefano Coletti:
"Racing on the streets where as a kid I was cycling on and where everyday I travel around with my car or on foot is something really special; here in the Principality we will have only a race instead of the usual two and the outcome of the weekend will depend quite a lot on the outcome of qualifying. The two podiums at Spa gave to the whole team a great motivation and I believe we will manage to be protagonists in this occasion too. I prepared well in the last two weeks, I trained on my bike, on foot and in the gym. Now we just have to focus on the race and give the best when the time will come".

The race will be broadcast live on TV by Eurosport starting from 18.15.
