Bonanomi scores double top-10 in Britain
The fourth round of the World Series Renault, held at Silverstone last weekend, had a bitter taste for Marco Bonanomi. The Italian driver was a constant presence at the top of the charts in practice, behind the sole Giedo Van Der Garde, and hoped to continue the good momentum started at Spa-Fracorchamps, where he captured the Super Pole. In qualifying, Bonanomi found himself struggling with a lack of speed due to a nervous racecar, and failed to make it to the last cut, ending up in 7th place. After taking off from 13rd, he got four positions back on Race 1, climbing up to 9th place, and even gained one more spot thanks to the penalty assessed to Guillaume Moreau. On Race 2, Marco moved from 11th to 8th place. An ealy pit-stop didn't help in the Italian's attempt of reversing the situation, and even dropped the him down to 9th. The next round of the season is scheduled for July 6, at Budapest.
