Uncatchable Marchese in qualify
19/05/2007 - Efisio Marchese is the author of the Magione's Formula 3 pole position (the first of his career), a very good result that was not even achieved before by his team, Europa Corse.
Fabrizio Crestani got off track at the beginning of the session, while the classification leader, Paolo Nocera, was struggling due to some setup problems.
In the "Trofeo Nazionale", pole position for Matteo Cozzari, who gave another satisfaction to the team led by Moreno Leonardi, and for Salvatore Cardullo.
Moreno Leonardi (Europa Corse, Team Manager)
"We are very happy: this is the first pole position ever for Europa Corse
in Formula 3. This result rewards the whole team and my compliments are
for all our guys. Cozzari completed this unforgettable day with the pole
position in the Trofeo Nazionale. What else can I ask for?"
Efisio Marchese
"This morning I had some problems with the shift gear, but I knew that I
could be competitive in qualify. My target was the first row but the pole
position seemed beyond my possibilities. I pushed a lot on track, taking
some risks too, but at the end of the day I can say that this was
worthwhile. I'd like to thank all the team guys: this pole position
belongs to them too".
Gabriele Lucidi (Lucidi Motors, Team Manager)
"We had some more problems than during this morning free practice. We did
not have enough mechanic grip, we will have to work hard to be
competitive tomorrow".
Mirko Bortolotti
"I did not center the pole position for a handful of thousandths, but I
have a good race pace. This is my debut year and I cannot be but happy.
Here in Magione overtakings are quite hard but, anyway, I am in the right
position for a good result tomorrow".
