Jonathan Summerton FBMW ADAC Rd. 3&4

As we began the weekend, Team Rosberg struggled trying to find the set up for the team, but as qualifying commenced Friday pm times began to fall. By the time the two, twenty minute sessions were over, Jonathan had worked his way to a respectable 8th grid place for both events.

Race 1:

With a great start Jonathan was battling for 5th place by corner 3. However, on lap three, his teammate dove in on the new turn 5 corner wheels locked heading straight at Jonathan just touching, forcing him to the outside and letting three other drivers through thus taking him back to 10th Great driving and patience allowed him to work his way back up and at the flag finish 8th.

Race 2:

Again Jonathan started from 8th grid spot. On the pre grid Jonathan's throttle began to stick. Repairs could not be done so it was a drive what you have scenario. At the start two cars jumped the start blocking Jonathan's chances of gaining places and forcing him back to 13th Struggling with the throttle problem, causing him to lock up and have to brake earlier, he managed to work his way back to 8th place by the checkered . Jonathan said afterwards that this was some of the closest racing I have done to date. It was a shame that we struggled with the set up and then the added problem of the throttle forced me to brake early on each corner but still to be 3 tenths off the pace wasn't so bad, after all it was a great learning experience for the future. We had over 12 cars within a second on lap times.
