Good sensations to Facu Regalia at Monza

Facu Regalia ended the first Formula BMW Europe day test at Monza with good sensations. The weather wasn't pleasant and the snow showed up in the afternoon.

The Hispanic-Argentinean driver had this Tuesday his first official test of the season. Monza was the backdrop chosen by BMW for the young drivers first outing before the debut race of the season, that will be held in May at Circuit de Catalunya, at the same time as the as the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Regalia was all day long in one of the Eifelland Racing cars and in the morning, when the weather conditions were at their best, the promising young driver was the fifth fastest. "It was difficult. I was the fifth fastest and fastest among my team's drivers, with an eight tenths advantage, even though I used worn tires", he said after the morning session.

In the afternoon, the drivers had three hours of track time, even if the weather didn't give them a break. Some of them choose to put new tires in their cars, something that allowed them to reach the top of the time sheets. Regalia and his team preferred to save the fresh rubber for the tomorrow's session. "I lost a bit more than a second to the fastest driver, something that isn't that bad because he used new tires and I didn't. However, we have to improve the set-up a bit. I think we are in the right path and I'm enjoying to work with the team", concluded Facu Regalia.
