05.13.10 - In the qualifications for the second round of the 2010 GP2 Main Series at Monte Carlo, Davide Valsecchi ended up in 7th place. As rain started to fall hard before the session's start, all drivers were forced to put rain tires on.

Unfortunately, a slight mistake cost Davide, who passed too close to the stuck car of Pastor Maldonado, a 5-position penalty.

"When I crossed the line on my last lap, I relaxed a bit and, at St. Devote, when I saw marshals working, I braked and wheels locked-up - told Davide - luckily enough, I just brushed by Pastor's car, and the penalty won't prevent me from fighting for a points spot. It's a bit of a shame because our performance in qualifying was good. With a drying track, all the best marks came at the very end, and as I got past the line in third, four more cars topped me in a few moments. Here in Monaco the race is aways really long, and I hope to get some spots back tomorrow”.
