MONZA: RECOVERY RACES FOR STEFANO COLETTI IN THE FINAL ROUND OF THE GP3 SERIES 2010

12/09/2010 - Monza's weekend, final round of the GP3 Series 2010, turned out to be mean with satisfactions for Stefano Coletti.

Since free practice on Friday the young driver from Monaco was slowed down by a puncture that prevented him from lapping in the final part of the session. His performance in qualifying has been penalyzed by a problem to the engine and therefore he could not do better than 1'45.378,twenty-ninth time.

The technical inconvenience being solved thanks to the intervention of Renault and Team Tech 1's technicians, Coletti has been protagonist of a strong recovery that brought him to the sixteenth place under the chequered flag despite a further puncture that slowed down his pace in the final laps. In race two, a good start allowed him to get closer to the points zone but a bumping from an opponent at turn one made him slip down to the back; the subsequent sequence of fast laps made him finish in twentieth position.

The final classification of the GP3 Series 2010 sees Stefano Coletti ninth at 18 points, harvested in the seven out of eight rounds he took part in.

"The technical problem in qualifying conditioned the outcome of the two races: after the partial recovery in race one, in race two it was probably possible to finish within points but the contact I was subjected to at the first chicane made things more complicated. In the second part of the season the car has constantly been competitive even if some unfavourable episodes here and at Spa did not allow us to aim to the victory; I am certain that Team Tech 1 has all what it takes to fight for next year's title".
