Qualifying 1
LOPEZ takes pole, MURCHISON 5th but close from front row
Jose Maria LOPEZ set the quickest time in qualifying1 for Saturday grand race in his 6th lap with a margin of 0.4 seconds over Jaime MELO. "I did a clean lap without pushing too hard in order to avoid a mistake, I am quite happy because this track is short and it is a good advantage to have nearly half a second margin."
Christian MURCHISON get his best qualifying result since the beginning of the season with 5th position, 0.2 seconds only from 2nd best time Championship leader Neel JANI
Qualifying 2
LOPEZ strikes back, MURCHISON on the second row
DAMS drivers obtained their best team position since the beginning of the season in qualifying with 2 cars on the 2 first rows. Jose Maria LOPEZ was quickest again with 0.2 second margin on French driver Tristan GOMMENDY. "It is great to be on pole again. The team did a fantastic job, the car is perfect. Now, the start of the race and the very long straight after turn 1 will be very important, it will be tough to keep position."
Christian MURCHISON improved his position and reached for the 1st time of the year the second row. "I am very happy because I am very close from JANI and LOPEZ who raced here last year. Qualifying was not perfect but this position is good any way. Usually my starts are good and I can reasonably hope a podium finish. It is good to be here after the difficult beginning of season we had."
