Eurocup FR2.0: One more overseas podium finish for SG Formula
SG Formula ace Carlo Van Dam secured 5th and 2nd positions on the starting grids at Donington Park. Saturday's race started well for him, but he was soon forced to retire after another driver pushed him into a spin during a caution period. Fortunately, the Dutchman had a better day on Sunday. He challenged polesitter Van der Drift at the start and then settled down in second place to eventually score his third podium finish of the season.
Contrary to his team-mate, Tom Dillmann enjoyed Saturday's race after poor qualifying. He recovered from 12th to 6th and took advantage of the stewards' decision to exclude two drivers to finally take 4th. The Frenchman also shined in early stages on Sunday, climbing from 21st to 10th in a single lap, but then went off.
SG Formula squad is looking forward to racing on home ground at Le Mans. Last year, the team entered cars in both French Championship and Eurocup races of the World Series by Renault event, set 4 pole positions and won 3 races out of 4.
