Hills hoist Ford onto pole
Winton race winner Peter Hills has secured his second qualifying pole when he topped the time sheets at Calder Park Raceway today. His Ford Mondeo (with a 62.4259 second lap) was just one hundredth of a second quicker than the Alfa Romeo of David Auger.

Super Tourers will take the first four positions on the grid as Grant Johnson (Mondeo) and Jamie Miller who opted not to run a rear wing on his Toyota Camry throughout the session, share the second row.

Future Tourers' Ray Sidebottom (Holden Commodore) also posted his 63.4105 time without a rear wing. The time was good enough for fifth spot on the grid and fastest in class.

Matthew White (Holden Commodore) in his hastily convert ex-AUSCAR was next only one tenth of a second slower. Super Tourer Mondeo pilot Sam Daley and the Future Tourer Commodore of Bruce Williams will share the fourth row ahead of the Holdens of Geoff Parker and Shanan Sidebottom.

Behind them are the first of the Falcons, the EL Fords of Andrew Gillespie and Michael Webb.
