Richmond USAC/FF2000 test day

OPEN MEDIA/TEST DAY AT RICHMOND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY, APRIL 12; 24 USAC TRUE VALUE SILVER CROWN & FORMULA FORD CARS TO VISIT "THE ACTION TRACK"

RICHMOND, VA - 24 True Value USAC Silver Crown Championship Series and Formula Ford 2000 East Series cars will team together at Richmond International Raceway Wednesday, April 12, 1995, for an Open Media/Test Day. The Raceway grandstands will be open free of charge, so spectators can watch these open wheel warriors get a taste of "The Action Track".

Richmond International Raceway's record for the fastest lap on the reconfigured track was set by Mike Stefanik's modified in 1991, a blistering 125.127 mph on Paul Sawyer's 3/4 mile "D"-shaped oval. The entire Silver Crown field is expected to break the existing track record!

On APril 12th the Raceway gates will open at 8:00 a.m. The Formula Ford 2000 cars will be first to take the stage at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Silver Crown cars. These methanol missiles will then rotate on an hourly schedule for the remainder of the Open Media/Test session. Practice will break from 1:00 till 2:25 p.m. for media relations with action resuming at 2:30 p.m. The Open Media/Test Day will conclude at 5:00 p.m.

Officials at USAC have commitments from nine Silver Crown cars and fifteen Formula Ford 2000 cars to attend RIR's Open Media/Test Session. Both RIR and USAC have agreed to a three year deal that will bring the Silver Crown cars back to RIR for two more summertime races under the lights.
