BGTC: Donington: Simon Pullan preview

Lincolnshire's Simon Pullan will be gunning for glory at his' home' circuit this weekend when the British GT bandwagon rolls into Donington Park for round two of the championship.

Pullan, 19, hasn't raced at the East Midlands track for more than a year but is looking forward to renewing his acquaintance with the venue." I won my first two Caterham races at Donington from pole position. It's one of my favourite tracks on the calendar because it's such a flowing circuit. I particularly like the run down through the Craner Curves and the Old Hairpin."

Pullan and Rollcentre Racing team mate, Martin Short roared to class victory and second overall at Brands Hatch two weeks ago. The pairing now share top spot on the GTO driver league, with Rollcentre Racing heading the team table.

While the Rollcentre duo made a clean sweep at Brands-- the Texaco TVR Tuscan R of Pullan and Short also started from the GTO class pole- the hard charging Tim Sugden/ Steve O'Rourke Porsche 911 and former champion Calum Lockie will be looking to avenge the loss at Donington.

"Winning the first race put the whole team on a high," Pullan said." We've started as we mean to go on. It isn't necessary to win every race but the rest of the field will be gunning for us from now on. We're definitely going to have our work cut out and we're not sure how much of a hindrance the success ballast will be at Donington.

"Tim Sugden is a very accomplished driver and the Lockie/Davies Ferrari can only get stronger. This is my home race though and I'll be looking to put on a good show for all of my family and friends who'll be at the circuit supporting me."

Round two takes place at Donington Park, 13-14 April.
