GT3 RACERS REVEALED
CRS today revealed three of the drivers who will race the two CRS Ferrari 430 Scuderia GT3 cars in 2009: Klaas Hummel, Chris Goodwin and Phil Quaife. As the FIA GT3 Championship is a Pro-Am series it is vital to select the best pairings of professionals and amateurs and CRS has signed what promises to be a winning combination.
Klaas Hummel only began racing a year ago but a fine performance in the SLR GT Trophy has fired him up for a shot at the FIA GT3 Championship. He and Chris Goodwin are already a successful partnership and CRS hopes this will continue with the switch to the Ferrari 430 Scuderia.
Phil Quaife has raced in GT3s since early 2007, alongside successful campaigns in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and the Porsche Supercup. He has already got his racing year off to a flying start with a class win at the Dubai 24 Hours.
Phil's team-mate will be announced soon.
"We've been working very hard to get the combinations right in GT3 and I think we've got a very strong line-up," said CRS Team Director, Andrew Kirkaldy. "Klaas looks very promising, judging by his testing pace at Brands Hatch last week. He's very enthusiastic and we want to work with him to show him how the team can bring drivers on. Chris already has a fantastic racing pedigree and I believe his experience will help the team. I have no doubts about Phil as he has plenty of experience and I'm sure he'll do a top job for us."
Phil Quaife and his team-mate will drive CRS GT3 Ferrari no.55; Klaas Hummel and Chris Goodwin will drive no. 56.
