Thomas fifth in Germany under pouring rain

Oschersleben (GER), June 21st 2009 That's a pity. After a third place during qualifications for team mates Biagi/Maassen, our Italian pilot was expecting the podium. What is called a "normal race incident" that occoured after the first bend to Xavier Maassen has made Thomas' expectations vanish. In fact the Dutch driver was forced to come back to the box during the first lap to repair the damages to Corvette C6-R, thus distorting the standard race strategy.

Hereafter Thomas declarations: "Luckily already during the recognition lap I was ready wearing my helmet in the box for any emergency, I jumped in the car without loosing a moment. I drove a large part of my stint with slick tyres on slippery racetrack with an extremely different grip at each lap. Very harsh conditions considering above all that everything was new to me. My personal goal was making no mistakes to pay back Luc Alphand Aventure faith in me with a podium. I hitted the first one ... and as for the second...that's a pity. I am very proud of being part of this team and of my team mate Xavier Maassen work, and with a bit more luck on the beginning we could be heading the race."
