Daly to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the championship final
Conor Daly will travel across the country from his Indiana home this coming weekend and attempt to win his second race of the Star Mazda championship presented by Goodyear. So much can happen on a race weekend but consider this: after a long season, Daly will attempt three things during the Laguna Seca final race weekend. Firstly he will attempt to maintain his third place in the points standings. Secondly, he will attempt to score his seventh podium finish of the season but to prove how consistently fast he has become during the back half of the season, he will attempt to continue his unique current stat of being either first or second fastest in eight of the last ten official days of Star Mazda running.
It will be the first time that Daly will race at Mazda Raceway, although he has experienced many video game laps. "Although we did not test at Laguna, I'm really looking forward to racing there. I have watched many races at Laguna and can't wait to drive down through the corkscrew. My engineer Mike Reggio and mechanic Dave DeMarchi have really clicked with me in the second half of the season and have given me a great car. I want a good result for me and for them", said Conor.
Conor drives for Andersen Racing contesting the Star Mazda championship as a member of the Mazdaspeed driver development ladder system. In 2008 Conor won the Walter Hayes Formula Ford Trophy in England for Team USA, the Ontario Formula Ford Rookie of the Year title driving for Brian Graham Racing and the Mazda Skip Barber National championship.
