Moses Smith heads to Mid Ohio Sports Car Course for round two of the Star Mazda North American Championship.
Chandler, AZ - After a three month hiatus from racing Moses Smith and his 3Dimensional Services / HASA Pool products Formula Mazda heads to the Mid West to compete at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. This will be round two of the ten race series.
In the Star Mazda Series, every racer receives the same race vehicle which insures that race results are based heavily on the driver's skill. The Formula Mazda is a Carbon fiber composite, 1090 lbs., 240 horsepower, open wheel race car. The engine is a 13b "Renesis" rotary engine that is rev limited to 6,800 rpm and equipped with a rev limiter, traction control, and a pit speed limiter. A driver has the opportunity to adjust his car's shocks (two way), anti-sway bars, wing angles, and brake bias (cockpit controlled).
Sebring was a great success for Moses. He finished second, after having put together this season's efforts six days before the first race. The combination of Moses' driving proficiency, the American Speed Factory's excellent race prep, and the support of 3 Dimensional Services/HASA Pool Products is proving to be a very promising.
The last time Moses drove at Mid-Ohio was in 2002 with the standard Formula Mazda. "This track is one of my most challenging, it is a lot of fun to drive, but for me it is tough to find speed" Moses commented on his last attempt at trying to tame the 15 turn 2.25 mile road course. "The team and I have been testing here during our down time between races, so I am more confident than ever about the weekend".
This race is sure to be exciting with 42 entries pre-registered. This will make this race the biggest class for the weekend.
