HVM Racing Welcomes Additions to 2010 IndyCar Schedule; Wiggins Believes New Venues Bring New Opportunities
Indianapolis, Ind. (July 31, 2009) -- The 2010 IndyCar Series schedule presents a good balance and will open some doors to the league, teams and fans, according to HVM Racing Team Principal and Owner Keith Wiggins. The Indy Racing League announced the schedule Friday, introducing new races in Brazil and Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, and confirming speculation that Richmond International Raceway will not be on the circuit.
Comments from HVM Racing Team Principal and Owner Keith Wiggins on the 2010 IndyCar Series schedule:
"Having Brazil on the calendar is a great asset for the series and a good marketing opportunity for the teams and certain drivers, and it provides good diversification into a new market.
"Also, I'm always in favor of a balanced calendar between road courses and ovals, a feeling that I think is shared by the fans of open-wheel racing, and therefore I welcome the addition of Barber, too."
