DAVID MARTINEZ READY TO TAKE ON MID OHIO WITH THE QUAMTEL CAR
Lexington, Ohio - August 5, 2010 - David Martinez arrived at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course today and had the chance to walk the track with his engineer as he prepares to introduce the "Hola Quamtel" campaign and gets ready to make his Indy Racing League debut in the #36 Quamtel Indy Lights Car.
Martinez and the Genoa Lights team will be on track together tomorrow for the first practice session of the Mid Ohio 100, round nine of the 2010 Firestone Indy Lights Series. For the Mexican driver this event will be an opportunity to show his talent and experience to the Indy Racing League community, and even though he has never driven the Indy Lights car, the 28 year old should be able to adapt quickly as he has proven to be a quick learner (in 2006 he scored the best ever debut by a Mexican driver in the Champ Car World Series). For the Genoa team this weekend will also mark an important landmark, not only will they make their 2010 Indy Lights debut, but they will also be pulling double duty as they will also field a car in the LMPC category of the American Le Mans Series.
David Martinez
"It's great to finally be here, we have been working on this
project for a long time and now it is a reality and everything is ready
to go. Quamtel Inc. (OTC: QUMI) and the Genoa Lights Team have done a
great job and I just can't wait to get in their car and do some
laps. Tomorrow we will have to go out there and get up to speed pretty
fast. I know the Mid Ohio track very well so that won't be a
problem; I'll just have to quickly understand what this car likes
and what it needs to go fast.
I spent a lot of time with the Genoa Lights team today and I feel very confident, they have a lot of experience and the car is in top shape, I think we have a good chance to score a great result here this weekend."
