Crown Royal IROC Series Prepares For First Texas Motor Speedway Race
Fort Worth, TX (March 29, 2004) -- The Crown Royal International Race of Champions team hit the pavement at Texas Motor Speedway in preparation for race two of the 2004 season. The race will take place Friday, April 2, under the lights at the 1.5-Mile oval. This will mark the first appearance for the Crown Royal IROC Series in the Lone Star State.
IROC President Jay Signore said, "So far, everything is going great. The (Texas Motor) Speedway is truly a great facility and everyone on staff here is welcoming and great to work with. We've been running under the lights every night and that just generates another element of excitement for all of us and the test drivers."
Signore continued, "Our test drivers, Dave Marcis, Jim Sauter and Jay Sauter are getting the set up for the race cars dialed in and they're also working in a second groove, which will provide for good side-by-side racing, so are hopes are up for an exciting show under the lights."
Testing will continue throughout the week as the Crown Royal IROC team prepares for round two of the One Million dollar chase to the 2004 Crown Royal IROC Championship.
Speed Channel will broadcast the Crown Royal IROC Race live from Texas Motor Speedway this Friday night at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
