Lindbom air-cool under pressure
10 August, 2003 - Kristian Lindbom today remained cool under pressure to cross the line first in the ARC Junior Sportsman class at the fourth round of the Super Cheap Auto Junior Blitz Series at Sydney's Oran Park circuit.
Using an air cooled ARC engine Lindbom finished ahead of the Jayair Pro Karting pair of Jordie Lindstrom and James Love. The trio were joined by Jake Williams throughout the race making it a four way fight for the lead for the majority of the event.
Following a discrepancy in the post race scrutineering these results are currently pending an appeal and should be referred to as provisional results.
The ARC Junior National Light final was a crackerjack race with Richard Rapa, Steel Guiliana and James Reid all leading the way at some stage. Reid led the later stages to take the win ahead of series leader, Brent reading who started at the back of the field and Robert Munnerley.
A last corner pass by Craig Schmidt helped him to victory for the second round in succession in ARC Junior National Heavy. Luke Oxford followed Schmidt across the line ahead of Mark Dorbolo.
Brock Hallett and Max Carter were never far apart in the Sniper Rookies class with Hallett taking the win. Carter finished second ahead of Ben Lincoln.
In the Comer Midgets it was James Kovacic who was once again dominant. Nicholas Foster finished second followed by Max Johnston.
The final round of the Super Cheap Auto Junior Blitz Series will be held at Adelaide's Bolivar Raceway on September 20/21.
