New Castle Pavement Event Cancelled, 5 Race Schedule Revised
04.02.2008 - Due to unforeseen circumstances, the scheduled July debut of the New Castle Motorsports Park event for the Rage Karts Speedway Pavement Series has unfortunately been cancelled for 2008. However the 5 race schedule for speedway pavement series competitors will remain intact with some revisions.
The scheduled July event will be moved one weekend earlier, with competitors returning to OCR Action Sports Park for the Grand National July 11-13. The scheduled August date for race #4 at Chapel Hill Raceway will remain intact with the finale now being moved to the weekend of October 3-5 at the BeaveRun Motorsports Complex in Wampum, Pennsylvania.
While New Castle will not be on the 2008 schedule, the intent by both track officials and World Karting is to return the facility back to the schedule for 2009. And with the success the Manufacturer's Cup Series enjoyed in 2007, the wait for the same result for the speedway pavement series will be most worthwhile.
WKA would like to thank officials at both OCR Action Sports Park and BeaveRun Motorsports Complex for working to maintain the 5 race program for the pavement series competitors. To view the revised schedule for 2008, go to www.worldkarting.com/pg/series/ps/ps-main.html.
