WTQMA doubleheader this weekend
Davenport, IA (June 13, 2001) - The Winged Three-Quarter Midget Association will be having it's first of two doubleheaders in 2001 this weekend. One of the two events will be at the Hawkeye Raceway in Blue Grass, IA on Saturday and the other being at the Jefferson County Speedway located in Fairfield, IA on Sunday.
The WTQMA has visited both tracks this season with Jeff Mallonee winning the only race at Hawkeye Raceway and Bart Andrews and Mike Raymond taking wins at the Jefferson County Speedway.
Notes:
Competitive field: The WTQMA has yet to see a repeat winner in 2001. In four events this season Mallonee, Andrews, Raymond and Robbie Ray have all picked up wins.
Running strong: Danny Bradley has won three heat races this season the most of any driver and is the only driver who has done so without winning a feature.
Making the races: Only three drivers have started all feature events this season. Those drivers include Andrews, Rod Thompson and Bradley.
Rookie success: Alex Coonan of Ottawa, IL finished seventh at the Aledo Raceway on Saturday, June 9, 2001 in only his second start with the WTQMA.
Over 14,000 hits: WTQMA.COM, the official web site of the Winged Three-Quarter Midget Association, has made it to 14,000 hits and is going strong.
