Jason Hathaway wins CARQUEST Series race at Mosport Speedway

OSHAWA, ON - CASCAR CARQUEST Series racer Jason Hathaway won his first-ever CARQUEST Series race on Saturday night (June 19) at Mosport Speedway when he led the final 70 laps of the CARQUEST 100 at the half-mile Oshawa-area oval.

Hathaway, of Appin, ON, assumed the lead of the race in his E.L. Fordham Motors / TSC Stores Chevy when Brad Graham the winner of the season opener at Cayuga Speedway on June 5 dropped out of the race, while leading, at lap 30. Prior to that, Graham's HB Material Handling Dodge looked set to win its second consecutive CARQUEST Series race.

Second place in the CARQUEST 100 went to Steve Munro, who came out on top in his lengthy battle with CARQUEST Chevy driver Andre Coursol of St-Jerome, QC. Munro and Coursol also finished second and third, respectively, in the opener at Cayuga.

With a pair of runner-up finishes to his credit in the season's first two events, Carp, ON racer Munro is expected to head to Round #3 on June 26 at Quebec City's Circuit Ste-Croix atop the CARQUEST Series points chase.
