PRACTICE #1 NOTES: During Friday morning's opening practice session for Saturday's Castrol Super Series race at the Molson Indy Vancouver, Edmonton's Kevin Dowler was fastest with a lap of 1:27.414 or 119.885 KPH around the 12-turn, 2.85 km temporary street circuit... There were a couple of incidents during the session, including separate crashes by Molson Toronto Indy CASCAR race winner Robin Buck and Pete Vanderwyst. Both drivers' cars received extensive damage when they hit the wall, but their crews were expected to make repairs. The half-hour qualifying session to set the field for Saturday's race is scheduled to commence this afternoon at 4:45 p.m.
