How was your qualifying lap?

"I guess this is a track where we qualify well ever since we've been coming here in the trucks – it suits my driving style somehow. I haven't quite figured out why, but we've always been pretty quick here. I have to say that today, from a team standpoint, was one of the most satisfying just because when we got here we were so poor and it seemed like everything we did to the car made it faster. As a team and as a race car driver, that's definitely not always the case. To make so much progress through practice and then to top it off with a good qualifying run – we're a happy team this evening."

What is the mindset going into a 500-lap race at Bristol?

"I can honestly say that there is nothing in my past that is like this. Not only because it's an oval and that's different, but just because something is always happening – quicker here than even in a Formula 1 car because there are so many people around you and the corners come so quickly. It's definitely one of those places where you're working for your paycheck here as a driver. It's always something, you're always having to think and do things and it's not like that everywhere else."
