"It's a very flat track where you can't run side-by-side all the way around, so it makes passing difficult. We had the restrictor plates there last time, and we won't this year, plus they put some sealer on the track surface, so there are a lot of unknowns. I do know that we had a good run in each of the races there last year but we didn't have the finishes to show for it. In the fall race, we were set for a very strong top 10 but we got swept up in someone else's crash with less than 10 laps to go"

The 1999 race was the second Winston Cup start for Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the Budweiser team. They qualified 13th and then ran well until ignition problems knocked them out of the race.
