BUSCH: Indianapolis: Bobby Hamilton preview

Team Rensi Motorsports Welcomes Back Ammbusher, Inc. As Associate Sponsor: Team Rensi Motorsports and driver, Bobby Hamilton, Jr. are pleased to announce that Ammbusher, Inc. will again join the United States Marine Corps as an associate sponsor of the No. 25 Team Marines Ford Taurus for the August 3, 2002 NASCAR Busch Series event at Indianapolis Raceway Park. The logo of Ammbusher, Inc., a nationwide skid steer manufacturer located in Aurora, IN, was last seen on the No. 25 entry in the Busch Series event at Kentucky Speedway in June.

Bobby Hamilton, Jr. on IRP:
"Racing at IRP brings you back to your days of short track racing on a Friday or Saturday night. But it's a lot different than most of the short tracks we go to. It's not steeply banked like Bristol or Richmond and there' s really only one good groove which makes it hard to pass. You really want to qualify up front, stay up front and avoid trouble at any cost. You'll see a lot of cautions at IRP and a lot of torn up race cars at the end of the day. You just hope that one of them is not yours."

Fred Wanke on IRP:
"I won at IRP two years ago with Joe Ruttman in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series so I feel like I have a good knowledge base to start from when we unload on Saturday. At IRP, track position is everything. Usually we are not too focused on our qualifying effort, but at a track like this, you really want to start up front and stay there. You also need a good handling race car. This is where good communication between crew chief and driver is essential. As a crew chief, you have to really pay attention to what your driver is saying about the car and how he is saying it so that you can make the adjustments to the car that he needs to be successful. If you can master these things and stay out of trouble, you're chances of being in victory lane at the end of the day are pretty high."

Equipment:
Hamilton, Jr., who currently sits seventh in the NASCAR Busch Series points standings, will drive chassis 17 on Saturday in the Kroger 200 at Indianapolis Raceway Park. This is the same chassis used when Hamilton, Jr. and Team Rensi Motorsports scored their first NASCAR Busch Series at New Hampshire International Speedway in May.
