BUSCH: Tyler Jet drops Busch Series program

HARRISBURG, N.C. (Dec. 10, 1999) Tyler Jet Motorsports announced Friday that it had released driver Tyler Walker and suspended its fledgling NASCAR Busch Series Grand National Division effort.

TJM had signed Walker, the former World of Outlaws ace, earlier this season to spearhead a limited NASCAR Busch Series deal.

"Tyler is a great young talent and he needs to be in a situation where he can get plenty of seat time," Tyler Jet team owner Tim Beverley said. "We took a long, hard look at our operation after the season ended and decided all of our focus needed to be on our Winston Cup effort. That didn't leave any room for a Busch Grand National team at this time. It's unfortunate we have to let Tyler go because he's going to make a solid driver for someone for a long time to come."

"I'll always be grateful to Tyler Jet Motorsports for opening the door to NASCAR for me," said Walker. "I learned a lot in my short stay there. I've already got a couple of lines on some rides for next year and I'm sure everything will work out for the best."
