FIELD: 28 Cars (24 Postions to be determined through one round of time trials. 2 positions have been established as provisionals and are available to any driver in the top 30 in the Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Championship Points who have not qualfied for one of the original 24 positions. 2 additional positions have been established for any owner who are in the top 30 in the current Goody's Dash Series, NASCAR Touring Championship Points who have not qualified for one of the orignial starting positions. <pre> SCHEDULE: Friday, June 22, 2001 10:30 a.m. Haulers enter and Registration. 11:00 a.m. Gates Open and Inspection Begins. 1:00 p.m. Mandatory Rookie Driver's Meeting. 1:30-2:20 p.m. Practice 2:45-3:45 p.m. Practice 4:15 p.m. Mandatory Driver/Crew Chief's Meeting. 5:45 p.m. Time Trials, best of two laps. 8:00 p.m. Pepsi Cola 100
NOTES OF INTEREST:
*The Series has made three appearances at Ace Speedway, and there have been three different winners: Robert Huffman 1990; George Crenshaw 1991; Mickey York 1992.
*This is the third short track event of the 2001 season. Cam Strader has won three events this year. All of which have been in his home state of North Carolina.
*Robert Huffman is fresh off his first victory of the season (Kentucky Speedway) and is looking to be a repeat winner.
*Rookie of the Year Contender Shane Hmiel, from nearby Pleasant Garden, will be eager to get back on track after engine problems sidelined him in the last event, giving him his worst finish of the season.
