Brainerd: Cruz Pedregon final summary

CRUZ PEDREGON AND THE ADVANCE AUTO PARTS TEAM HAVE CONSISTENT WEEKEND IN BRAINERD

BRAINERD, Minn. (August 14, 2006) -- Cruz Pedregon and his Advance Auto Parts Race Team were eliminated after a tough first round matchup at Brainerd (MN) Int'l Raceway in the Nitro Funny Car division during the NHRA Nationals this past weekend. Pedregon is still in the top 10 in the 2006 point standings after the Advance Auto Parts team's consistent showing in Brainerd.

"We got our old car back - the car we had in Brainerd is the exact car that we won with in Las Vegas," Pedregon stated. It responded to our changes and was very consistent. I'm excited about the fact that we didn't hurt one part all weekend - no engine damage at all and the car was consistent. We had a good race with Scelzi. It was fender to fender all the way down the track, and we only lost by a couple of feet. We're going to move on to Memphis with a car that is back where we need it to be, back in the groove. The whole Advance Auto Parts team is looking forward to Memphis so we can continue the momentum."
