DAVID POWERS MOTORSPORTS TO TAKE NEW DIRECTION IN 2009

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (Oct. 12, 2008) -- David Powers Motorsports and Rob Flynn, crew chief on the Hot Rod Fuller-driven Caterpillar dragster, have reached a mutual agreement to part ways following the conclusion of the 2008 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series season team owner David Powers announced today.

"Both Tim Buckley and myself want to thank Rob Flynn for the great job he's done for our team," Powers said. "Rob has done an outstanding job with the Caterpillar car nearly winning the championship last season. We wish him well in his future endeavors in NHRA drag racing. We're searching for a dynamic crew chief that can compliment the leadership that Lee Beard has brought to our organization."

Flynn, who joined the DPM organization in the summer of 2005, was promoted to crew chief of the Caterpillar dragster before the 2007 NHRA season. He tuned Fuller tofour wins in eight final round appearances and five poles during the 2007-08 seasons. The Flynn-tuned rail also recorded low elapsed time of the meet seven times and top speed of the meetthree times the past two years. The team is actively pursuing a replacement.

"All seven of my wins have come with Rob Flynn and Lee Beard," Fuller said. "Rob and I have developed a great friendship over the past few years; he's like family to me. This is a tough day, but I'm excited about the future. We nearly won the championship last season and in many eyes were the 2007 NHRA champions. I wish Rob and Mike (Guger) the best of luck. We experienced a lot of great times together, but we're focused on finding a top-notch tuner that can keep this Caterpillar car a championship contender for many years."
