NHRA South Central Division Summit Finals Begin at Texas Motorplex
ENNIS, Texas -- The best bracket racers from across the South Central Division converged on Texas Motorplex today for the NHRA Summit Finals. Drivers will compete for team and individual honors at the 2007 Summit Racing Series South Central Division Finals. More then 600 drivers in Super Pro, Pro, No-Electronic Quick, No-Electronic Street and Motorcycle will compete for team and individual honors.
Winners in there respective classes (there will be a run-off between the winners in Super Pro and Pro to determine who will go to Pomona) will advance to compete against winners from NHRA's other six divisions at the NHRA Finals in Pomona, Calif., in November. Each winner will receive $3,500 regardless of there performance at the finals and the winners will pocket an additional $5,000. Tomorrow's action will include the Race of Champions which is a race within a race that pits the top points-earning drivers in each class from participating tracks against each other in head-to-head competition. The Race of Champions competitors are vying for a share of the $4,700 purse.
