DESPITE GOOD QUALIFYING EFFORT, TIRE SMOKE SHORTENS DAY FOR HERBERT
Gainesville, Sunday: The 38th annual ACDelco NHRA Gatornationals came to an early end for Doug Herbert and the Snap-on Tools Top Fuel dragster. Despite the disappointment at losing in the first round, Herbert remained positive about the rest of the NHRA POWERade season.
"The adjustments we made to account for the weather conditions didn't work, and we got beat," said Herbert. "But we've already figured out what to do to fix the problem."
Crew chief Jim Brissette, car chief Dave Fletcher and Herbert spent time discussing the results of the race weekend. Three races into the season, the Snap-on Tools team showed the best qualifying effort this season.
"The good news is we qualified in the top half of the field," said Herbert. "That shows we are making improvements. Everyone on the team is determined to keep working and keep making improvements until we get to winner's circle. That's all there is to it."
The next race for Herbert and the Snap-on Tools team will be the O'Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals held in Houston on March 30th.
