JOLIET, Ill. (Friday June 1) - Don Smith, driver of the Texas Harley-Davidson Chevrolet S-10 Pro Stock Truck is prepared for tomorrows eliminations at the 4th Annual Lucas Oil Products NHRA Nationals in Chicago. Ill.
Today in the morning session of qualifying Smith ran a 7.444 / 180.67 mph to secure the third spot on the eliminations ladder.
Smith, who won Pro Stock Truck at last weeks Advance Auto Parts Nationals in Topeka, Kan. feels confident going into tomorrow's race.
"I feel pretty good going into eliminations tomorrow," said Smith of Keller, Texas. "We are sitting in a pretty good spot on the ladder, and are preparing to once again race our race, and not beat ourselves. I think we can win from where we are if we do everything right.
"We proved last weekend that anyone can win at anytime in this class. I think we learned last week that it takes the same amount of speed and luck to win one of these races. We know we have the horsepower. Hopefully we have enough luck left over from Topeka to take us to the final round again this weekend."
Eliminations at the 4th Annual Lucas Oil Products NHRA Nationals will take place on Sunday June 3 at 11:00 AM CST.
