Memphis, Sunday; Scott Weis and the Wiseguy crew go down in the first round when the Bruce's Super Body Shops Corvette lost fire against Frank Pedregon. Weis and the crew were keenly disappointed and had hoped to do better after qualifying and running the best ET of their career.

Scott was disappointed and cited the teams budget and lack of a tuning data base as part of their problem. Weis said "We are all really happy to have run this well and plan to go on to Dallas and try again. We are still doing a diagnostic check so I am not sure what happened, but she nosed over at about the 330 ft. mark and shut down.We think it was something electrical, maybe one of the mags. I hate it too because the progressive telemetry in the first part of the run was roughly the same as that 4.95. So she would have been on a good run."

"All-in-all we are happy, we are gaining our tuning experience one race-at-a-time, and while we are improving the learning curve is very steep. We just do not have enough data for some of the conditions that we encounter due to the fact the we just plain have not seen these conditions before. Of course if our finances were a little better, our parts would be fresher and more plentiful. I am really proud of my crew, my guys take a little and do alot. We are all dedicated to stay at it until we can consistently be fast and competitive."

"I want to thank Bob Frye, for the kind words and mentions of my sponsors,as well as a tip of the cap to Cruz Pedregon who said some encouraging words also. Of course the whole team sends it's prayers and good wishes to our fellow racers who had real problems this weekend, and hope that they are all able to get back to the track as soon as possible."

"Again we would like to thank Nitromaniac.com and G-Man Sportswear for coming onboard, as well as Bruce's Super Body Shops, Tootees Race Cars, Chuck's Brush Works, the Wiseguys and Wisegirls, and all of our fans for their support. Visit us online."
