Sandher takes pole at UK Formula Ford finale
Indian driver Suk Sandher grabbed pole position for the penultimate UK Formula Ford race of the season at Brands Hatch this afternoon. Newly crowned champion Valle Makela will line up alongside him on the front row of the grid.
Sandher took his first race win of the season at the previous meeting at Spa-Francorchamps. He continued his rich vein of form in qualifying at Brands Hatch to snatch pole position from Makela.
Charlie Donnelly made a great return to the series after missing the Spa races by claiming third place on the grid. The Irishman set an identical time to Makela during the 25-minute session, proving that a close race is in prospect around the Brands Hatch Indy circuit.
Yuya Sakamoto took fourth place, just beating Daniel Clarke by three hundredths of a second.
Sebastian Hohenthal also pushed hard and was just eight thousandths of a second behind Clarke in sixth place. American racer Charlie Kimball, who is battling with Clarke and Hohenthal for the runner-up place in the championship, took a disappointing seventh.
