IFM: Tomas Pivoda Imola summary

Despite suffering from a couple of bad breaks, Tomas Pivoda experienced a positive weekend at Imola, in the penultimate round of the 2008 International Formula Master season. Especially in qualifying, Tomas shown to have made a decisive step in his learning experience by taking a spot on Row 9 and keeping in touch with the main names in the Series. The loss of the best time at the end of the session due to a yellow-flag improvement didn't hit the good potential shown but, on Race 1, a contact with team-mate forced Tomas to come back to the pits. The 17-year-old Czech driver made his way to the track again, taking his car to the checkered flag. On Race 2, he ended up in 16th, putting more kilometers behind his shoulders in order to aim to a good result in the final round at Monza.

"After dealing with a wet racetrack in practice, due to the rain fallen earlier, I made decisive step in qualifying, putting myself among the group. I was keeping a good pace on Race 1 when my team-mate made a mistake, as he went under-braking while trying to pass me. I was forced to stop in the pits, coming to the end two laps back. On Race 2, I felt good and tried to pass Graves, but I spun and lost ground. I hope to make another decisive step for the series' gran finale at Monza..."
