LUFF WINS SECOND V8 BRUTE RACE AT BATHURST
FORD Falcon driver Warren Luff won another crowd-pleasing RM Williams V8 BRute Challenge race at Mount Panorama today in the lead-up to the Bathurst 24-Hour.
After a flag-to-flag win in the first leg yesterday, again Luff set a scorching pace and finished 14 seconds ahead of Grant Denyer, in another Falcon.
Allan Grice started from pit lane at the back of the 14-vehicle field, but drove brilliantly to come fourth behind Darren McDonald in the leading Commodore.
Todd Wanless was lying second in the early stages of the seven-lap race but was called in to the pits when his passenger door flew open and had to be taped shut.
McDonald, from Melbourne and former Sydney Roosters rugby league player Jack Elsegood fought a tight battle throughout the race for third and fourth places until Elsegood pulled out at the Chase on the last lap.
