Team Championship sponsor announced

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (July 11, 2002)-SCCA Pro Racing® and Taiyo Edge R/C announced today a relationship that makes Taiyo Edge R/C the official sponsor of the Pro Spec Racer Team Championship.

The Taiyo Edge R/C Team Championship is a season-long point battle for three-driver Pro Spec Racer series teams. Teams score points at each series race based upon the performance of team members. The team earning the most points in the 2002 season will be crowned the Pro Spec Racer Taiyo Edge R/C Team Champion.

As part of the sponsorship announcement, Taiyo Edge R/C will provide the season-ending prize fund which includes $1000 for first place, $600 for second place and $400 for third place.

The Greatful Edge team of Warren Stillwell, Johnny Meriggi and Neil Tilbor currently lead Team Buffalo, consisting of Keith Scharf, Chris Funk and Steve Rehkemper, 394 to 334, in the Taiyo Edge R/C Team Championship.

The 2002 SCCA Pro Racing Pro Spec Racer championship continues this weekend with a doubleheader event at Mid America Motorplex in Pacific Junction, Iowa.
