HO-PIN TUNG SEVENTH AND EIGHTH AT MONZA
Although his race weekend started rather unfortunately for Ho-Pin Tung - he had to have a new engine installed - the young Chinese managed to score solid results at the high speed circuit of Monza in Italy. He finished seventh and eighth in the two races held this weekend as the penultimate round in the Superleague Formula series this season.
The Chinese hero had a perfect start in both races. In the first race he gave fine examples of the art of overtaking. 'At the end of the first race I had to deal with less performing tyres, because of severe wear and I could not keep up the pace,' Ho-Pin comments. As eighth of the bunch he passed the finish line. The second race started with turmoil, making Ho-Pin losing several places. 'But I was able to fight my way up through the field, and overtook many of my fellow contenders. I had a small collision with Bourdais, so I had to continue the rest of the race with a bended front wing. The pit stop was nothing less than chaotic, I lost several places. But again I fought my way up and I managed to finish seventh '. Ho-Pin Tung says his team did a good job all over the weekend and sees no reason not the finish on the podium in this season's last race, in Madrid, in the first weekend of November.
