USCS: Driver Brice Wrenn to miss races

O'REILLY USCS DRIVER BRICE WRENN TO MISS AT LEAST TWO RACES WITH KNEE INJURY

FAYETTEVILLE, GA - O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series driver Brice Wrenn of Lexington, SC will miss at least two races with the series recovering from a knee injury suffered in a crash on June 3 at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL.

Wrenn was leading the Butlerbuilt second ten-lap heat race when Ricky Stenhouse Jr. of Olive Branch, MS came up to challenge for the lead in lapped traffic. Wrenn went to the high side of the track to pass a lapped car, and Stenhouse went to the inside of the lapped car. The lapped car moved up and made contact with Wrenn, causing him to flip several times, and land outside the race track.

Wrenn was taken to a local hospital where he treated and released for the knee injury and a slight concussion.

"I'm feeling better, but I'm going to miss the two dirt races this weekend at Phenix City, AL and Rome, GA," Wrenn said. "I'm going to get an MRI later this week to see if I'm going to have to have surgery on the knee, and I'm going to have to wait to see what the doctor says about me racing the net three pavement races in Hickory, NC, Florence, SC, and Kenly, NC."

Wrenn is currently seventh in the O'Reilly USCS National point standings with one win, and four top ten finishes. Last season Wrenn finished fifth in the O'Reilly USCS National point standings.
