Henzler's Porsche Paces SPEED GT Practice At Infineon

SONOMA, Calif. (July 16, 2004) -- German Wolf Henzler paced practice for this weekend's SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT Round Four Championship race at Infineon Raceway. Phil McClure, of Floris, Iowa, and Leighton Reese, of Minnetonka, Minn., were second and third in their Corvettes.

Driving the No. 17 Infineon/Farnbacher Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, Henzler surprised the SCCA SPEED GT regulars by turning a fastest time of 1:41.407 (89.816 mph) in his first series appearance. The German driver is currently dominating the worldwide Porsche Supercup Championship as well.

Driving the No. 73 Aggregate Industries/3R-Racing Chevrolet Corvette ZO6, McClure's time of 1:41.616 (89.631 mph) led the day's first session, and was good enough for second overall after the afternoon session. McClure has top-five finishes in his previous two appearances at Infineon Raceway.

Driving the No. 6 Banner Engineering Chevrolet Corvette ZO6, Reese was third fastest with a lap of 1:42.369 (88.972 mph). The Cadillac CTS-Vs of Andy Pilgrim and Max Angelelli completed the top five.

Qualifying for Sunday's race is set for 11:15 a.m. (PDT) on Saturday. Live Timing & Scoring Presented by Cadillac is available through www.world-challenge.com. Sunday's race will air on SPEED Channel at 10:00 a.m. (PDT), 1:00 p.m. (EDT).
